The preparation for civil service examination is a long journey with lot of crossroads. There is sample advice out there that promises the destination with terse formulas & regimented routines. One cannot just follow those random direction boards to keep the journey enjoyable & the work life meaningful. The presence of a bunch of co-riders with a lead bike navigating the arduous path makes all the difference. I found my lead bikers in the form of Arun sir & Remya ma’am in 2007. They had geared up with me, navigated the path for me, even followed me at times, but never lost sight of me. At times when i was left behind, they had comeback to check on me and rode along with me until I was back with the pack in the front. Our journey has not stopped since. When I chose to associate with Arun sir & Remya ma’am I chose friends for life. That's how it is with them.

Right approach and proper understanding of exam pattern is very essential for the success in civil service examination. The inputs I received from Remya Ma'am and Arun Sir were invaluable during Mains preparations in 2014, 2015 and 2017. They directed my focus towards improving my time management skills and writing better answers through the syllabus-bound GS test series. I had attended Arun Sir's GS IV Classes (ETHICS) as well. Ramya Ma'am and Arun Sir have played a key role in my journey to clear Civil Service Examination 2016. I benefited from their timely meticulous feedback for both Mains papers and interview. I was a student of Arun Sir's and Ramya Ma’am's Interview Preparation & Essay Writing, during the year 2010-11. Their sessions were novel, informative, participative and was customized to each student. UPSC Personality Interview is shrouded with myths, and their sessions were myth busters and genuinely enjoyable. While it is unlikely that any individual's personality can be drastically altered in short span of 2-3 months, they are excellent at identifying and correcting many of the blunders committed by the aspirants.
They teach you that personality is empirically measurable and not merely luck or chance. I consider myself fortunate to have attended their classes.

Cracking civil service exams is next to impossible for everyone, but it is very much possible if you get the right teacher. I had been very lucky and fortunate for getting coached by Arun Sir (for psychology). The dedication and commitment shown by him is unparalleled. His time management is phenomenal, which enabled him to complete the entire syllabus much in advance giving me enough time for preparation. Arun Sir is my Psychology teacher for Civil Services Mains exam preparations in the year 2009. His approach towards education is holistic. He would never compartmentalise any chapter. To illustrate with an example, while discussing a topic in chapter 9, he would reproduce content from his memory at enormous ease, that this point is also mentioned in Chapter 5, page 130, para 5. He is effortless in delivering lectures, and admirably effective at explaining complex ideas. Given a chance I would love to keep listening to his lectures again and again. His practical approach to secure marks is replete with awe-inspiring wisdom, which attunes oneself towards the basic requirements of the Civil services exam.

Apart from guidance in psychology (test batch) the Interview guidance program was of immense assistance as well. I was able to get Sir and Ma'am's assistance even when I moved out of Trivandrum. The feedback given to me on my mock interviews helped me modify and alter my performance for the better. I was introduced to new perspectives on issues and was also taught how to give tactful responses to complex and tricky questions. Both Sir and Ma'am create a congenial atmosphere that can foster learning and help an aspirant make strides in this examination. Moreover, apart from assistance in the preparation, counseling and pep talks offered by them in times of stress or duress, were much helpful at some points in preparation. It was truly an enriching experience to be associated with Sir and Ma'am, one that I will cherish for years to come.
